oops, when I saw the title said Herv's single, I thought this was a follow up to the 'Herv in love' thread.

Still, glad herv's not single or available and that his single is available. I have my copy. Sitting on my cd player waiting to turn in to a cd. Looks loverly though.

btw Silo - the thingswhatyousometimesdobemissinwhenyizzernotlookinatthethingssite dublin distro* is now on the go - if you need any help stocking stuff just lemme know - it's Road, Freebird and Tower so far (which you've already covered).

whassthestory with electronic distro (disco ditro anbody?) generally - is it up and running - is it going to snuggle up to regular distro or live a separate existence - you seem to have covered a range of more specialist electronic music shops.

* = street jive for recorded music distribution.

herv and aoifed are taking care of the electronic side of THiNGS - but definite snuggling 'twixt electro and guitar distro will be done. hopper made the point that there was just too much stuff on the stall to bring everything to every gig and that the electro stuff wasn't sellin great at the guitar gigs and vice versa. also hopper and michaelknight wouldn't frequent the electro gigs so we needed someone who did to do the stall. so it made sense to seperate them to some extent. ideally everything on the things distro would be available at every gig but then ideally everyone would buy an equal amount of electro and guitar stuff but it don't work like that. so the distinction between the two isn't intentional but more a result of how stuff works.

Subject:_ Warmduscher 7" in the shops now!

Hello all...

After the success of last week's launch of the Herv "Warmduscher" 7", _ _
Compactrisc would like thank all those who made the trek down to Grays. We had a deadly night and many thanks to all at Neuromantek (www.neuromatek.com) for letting us have the launch there, as well as to Spectac, Krossphader and John Braine for superb sets.

The 'Warmduscher' 7" is now available to buy in several places in Dublin city,
as well as widely available through THiNGS distro. (www.thingsyouremissing.com)
You can get it at:

Tower Records, Wicklow Street;
Road Records, Fade Street;
Big Brother Records, Fade Street;
Spindizzy, Georges Street Arcade;
The Secret Book and Record Store, Wicklow Street;
Freebird Records, Eden Quay.

The Event Guide (22nd jan - 4th feb 2003) had this to say about it:

"'Warmduscher' manages to sound like Squarepusher, Four Tet and Mu-Ziq getting in a scrap with the Jimmy Cake without getting muddled."

Also, Herv plays the widely acclaimed 'Ballroom of Romance'
(www.ballroomofromance.com) at the Lower Deck in Portabello on Friday, Febuary 28th, along with Formika and The Last Sound.

Hope to see some of you there.

Cheers people,

Regards,

Compactrisc Records.

General info/news about Herv:

__Herv has been producing seriously since 1998, having spent much of his
teenage years experimenting with tapeloop editing and found electronic sound. Recently he has whittled his set up down to just a laptop, 2 Gameboys running custom music synthesis and sequencing software and various 'real'
instruments.
__Herv's usual style is song based electronica, interwoven with syncopated
drum programming, chipcore synth lines, 8-bit breaks, orchestral motifs, and a
tendancy towards having as much as possible happen in the shortest possible
time.
__Herv has also released on labels such as Lazybird (www.lazybird.co.uk) and
Bluemurder (www.bluemurdermusic.com) and an album on Compactrisc/Sink or Swim Records is due mid Summer 2003, as well as an e.p. for new London based label Kraked (www.kraked.co.uk)

I just came back from dancing in the ambassador, lemon jelly gave everyone goodie bags with a lemon jelly pencil, some postcards, a baloon, a badge and a bingo form for the bingo they had at the start of the gig where they gave away loads of nice things.

bingo! that sounds deadly.
I like crowd interaction stuff.

what were the postcards like? and did the balloon have a lemon jelly logo on it?
I still have a very shrivelled balloon from a warp night years ago with the warp logo on it.

Yes ballon had lemon jelly logo on it, the pencil has lemon jelly writing machine written down the side of it, the postcards were in lemon jelly style art, one had a record player on it, the other had some children on it
