in theory you could apply your statement to this site too. a lot of people here seem to work in the same shitty jobs and post stupid shit too (granted it is far funnier on this site and i've seen some that are worthwhile).

most of those you hate, from your description, tend to be from advertising and well.... these days advertisers are down there with lawyers and the tax man.
true, i just don't like creative ireland any more. Can't pinpoint, just do.

The Broken social scene album-You forgot it in people is really really great alright. Also being worn out on the ole stereo is DJ Cam-Liquid Hip hop, Low-Trust, Bloc Party-Silent Alarm, Q and not U-Different Damage and Pinback-Offcell ;)

Labradford was a couple of guys i think, pan american was a solo project.
I love what Labradford do, especially on that M.M.N. album: very simple, subtle but incredibly emotional and soothing. Some of the tracks (track 3 especially, and track 1- the names i cannot recall for they are only letters) are extremely moving and beautiful.
Their "festival of drifting" gigs with David Pajo a few years ago were wonderful also.
i have actually spent the last 4/5 years of my life constantly ranting at people about labradford

MMN is one of my favourite albums ever

Unwed Sailor - Riddle Of Stars (one of only two songs ive heard by em...i neeeed more...)
On The Might Of Princes - For Meg
Django Reinhardt - Tears
This Bike Is A Pipe Bomb - The Black Panther Song
Rest - (not sure of the name..)
Fugazi - Waiting Room
The Postal Service - Nothing Better

Jaysus..I fuckin' love music, so I do, so I do..

unwed sailor toured ireland about 3 years ago... we put on the cork gig.

utterly amazing band.

modest mouse - good news for people who like bad news
has been getting me through early morning dark and rainy traffic jams with a smile on my face. what an incredibly tweaked man isaac brock is. infectiously tweaked tho. amazing album. yum.
other than that, pinback - summer in abbadon, qotsa - r, iron & wine - the creek drank the cradle, casino vs japan - go hawaii, sufjan stevens - seven swans, charles mingus comp, dj shadow - endtroducing, lali puna + multiple odds n sods compilations invariably featuring the song new slang. hellish commutes are good for getting to know your record collection.

playing san andreas has made me get all me oul soundgarden and helmet albums out. nothing like blowing shit up whilst blasting some rusty cage. speaking of helmet, anyone get thir new album? its shit. very dissapointing

you werent listing to feel superior. you were just showing off. i wouldnt need to 'have them' cos i got battles and you cant have them 'cos i'm taking that ep out of my shared folder right now :p

i dont pick fights on creative ireland some people dont like that i have an opinion, thats all.

Ha ha! For God's sake. What a pile of bullshit. I know I really should just take this abuse with a pinch of salt considering that our secret identities are well known to each other, and that you are just pretending to be some anonymous wanker who's having a go at me for being a trying to be cool, but I think I shall decide to defend myself on this one.

Once again the fact that you haven't heard of any the albums that I good naturedly recommended to those who read Thumped to find out about new music that they might like, not to the likes who just post crap to annoy people and try to make them out to be pretentious pricks, doesn't mean I'm 'showing off'. I'm merely passing on information, as was previously done to me by a friend of mine with similar music taste. If this concept upsets or angers you I suggest that you don't read any similar threads, as there are many. I'll thank you for not trying to make me out to be an asshole for the sake of it; you can do that for yourself much more successfully. :D

Theres an interesting interview with the guys who did the sound for San Andreas (all of the GTAs actually) in this months Sound on Sound magazine

has anyone seen it?

apparently they recorded enough dialouge for the random pedestrians that taking into account all variations there is 3 billion different conversations you can overhear

uhm. i wasnt aware of that allegation. it doesnt make the album any less good. or him any less tweaked. i just googled it and the charges were dropped apparently. why do you ask? would that make you stop listening to or enjoying an album? jesus - you could never dance to billy-jean drunk ever again!
