it's great, used to play D with an F# bass before, but the D7 makes it totally bluesy and old style

Everyone ever who was 14 to 17 and had a guitar has played Em to Am back and forth over and over again, for ages and ages... because that's exactly what it sounds like in a depressed teenagers head...

it's where it is on the neck, feels like you're really playing. F would be good too but it's harder to play.

plus you can let go of the top string and hear an E note

I don't like major 7ths generally, or most any jazzy type chords
