can any damage be done putting an electric guitar into a bass amp or putting a bass guitar into a guitar amp??

Guitar into bass amp is fine but bass could damage a guitar amp AFAIK. Mihgt be nothing in that though, folk knowledge...

I would say you're about bass into guitar amp. If you keep the volume low and the bass knob lower, ya might be alright.

Guitars through bass amps sound shit unless they are clean.Just because it worked for Josh Homme does not mean it will work for you.My rule of "thumb" anyway.

If it's a decent guitar amp i.e. has good speakers - then I can't see how playing a bass through it would be bad - aside from the fact that it probably won't reproduce the low end well.

keep the volume down real low!! and youre right youll lose all the low end but get real nice mid range on bass
