this message is mainly for anthony / pantene 247 / other grafix heads, as well as anyone who's had to deal with this sort of thing before.

we've sent stuff to g.z.c.d. in the czech republic; we got this in reply:

"concerning the artwork for labels - our DTP do not work with % of CMYK
- in this case we need the exact PMS colours you want - so, please specify
them according to our PMS scale."

p.m.s. scale? is this pantone colour?

more info:

- we're not getting covers done, this is just the central labels.
- we sent them a quarkxpress 4.04 file. they seem ok with this.
- there are 2 colours, black and light green.
- the light green seems to be the problem. we sent them a c.m.y.k. % amount for the colour, which is the equivalent of the web colour #CCFFFF.

we know we can convert colours in quark, but there were 3 different 'versions' of pantone colour to choose from (we're new to this sort of thing), which is why we sent the c.m.y.k. value instead.

the big favour we're asking is: can you tell us the p.m.s. value for #CCFFFF?

if that's not really possible, can people let us know how to figure this out?

if you don't want to post here, tell us at [email protected]

thanks.

thanks very much. however, there's two different numbers here, potlatch's 2975 and anthony's 628.

this is precisely the problem. quark has three different pantone options in its colour palette, which give three different numbers. which one is p.m.s.?
