Oh, The Ghost and the Black Hat is probably my favourite song by either writer on Liberty Belle. But I can't find no footage.

Overall, I'm slightly more of a Robert fan, though they both have loads of great songs interspersed with puzzlingy terrible ones.

Yes, I was looking for The Ghost And The Black Hat but couldn't find it either.

Did you like The Evangelist? I think it's the best thing either or both of them did since 16 Lovers Lane.

Also, some of Grant's Go-Betweens b-sides are amazing. You Won't Find It Again and Postcard From Mexico on 16 Lovers Lane especially.

I didn't get it, but with a recommendation like that I may have to change that. I thought Ocean's Apart was great so if it's better than that then it'll be worthwhile.
In general, the solo stuff of both seems like thin pickings. That double best-of wasn't great, anyway.

It's on the second disc of the recently reissued 16 Lovers Lane CD. Casanova's Last Words is pretty good too.

Ha! Nothing says appreciation like spelling a man's name wrong.

Been listening to a lot of Go Betweens recently, some really great stuff. This is the final part of very entertaining doc on Brisbane bands from 1988. McLennan grumbles about his 'beloved' Brisbane before and after a nice version of 'Wrong Road Round'

It's bizarrely good. I was listening to it thinking "this makes no sense at all, why wasn't he writing this sort of stuff all along"? 'Did She Overtake You' is my favorite song on it, but alas I can't find a friggin video for it.
