Chirps are a three-piece post-rock outfit who all hail from Ballina and are now based in Dublin. Formed in early 2008 through a shared passion for predominantly instrumental, nuance-based music, they recorded their debut album 'Future Static Prologue' at Dwanesound Studios in Ballina in Oct '09. Presented as a radio broadcast, the album utilizes atmospheric instrumentation and dynamic-driven song structure as a palette to investigate abstract secular themes such as hyper-reality, and the prevalence of image within modern society. The musical content is supplemented with selected passages from Situationist writers Guy Debord and Raoul Vaneigem... in case yer bothered like.

The album was released on June 24th '10 and supported by a six date Irish tour. Chirps are currently writing material for their sophomore release and hope to road test some new tracks at shows towards the end of November...

Family Planning are a 3 piece band of interplanetary troubadours operating from a re-enforced underground bunker in Portobello, Dublin. Graduating from the Pavement style plinkings of Slurps in 2010, Aaron McGrattan, Shannon Duvall and Jason Juman formed Family Planning as soon as the hangover had worn off, and they had got their instruments out of pawn. Expect it to be HEAVY with complicated, fluid, unrambling, visual melody, feral beats, and a slight peak in atmospheric pressure. Bake for 30 minutes.

The Great Ocean Divide are a 3 piece instrumental band from Waterford City. The band formed in March 2011 with the idea of creating atmospheric noise with influences such as Russian Circles, Isis, And So I Watch You From Afar and Tides From Nebula, as well as bands that they sound nothing like.

Having released a 2 track demo in June 2011 (which can be heard and downloaded for free from http://thegreatoceandivide.bandcamp.com/), the band started to perform live in the Summer of 2011, making appearances at Tráfest, Spraoi Festival and a headline show at Traffik nightclub in The Forum, Waterford.

They're now playing to anyone that will listen and gearing up to record more tracks, watch this space.
