The Village
Thu 16 Aug 2007
Doors 20:00
Maps and Atlas are delighted to announce that Fridge will be playing The Village, Dublin on August 16th. It's been six years since Fridge last played live and they make a very special appearance in Dublin to promote their new album ('The Sun') which will be released in June. We are delighted that they have managed to fit in a Dublin date between their festival appearances.
Tickets are on sale now at €22.50 including booking fee - www.tickets.ie (https://www.tickets.ie/secure/booking1.aspx?event=M2DQX), City Discs and Pluggd Records and will be available from WAV, Road and Sound Cellar shortly.
About Fridge:
Fridge formed at school in Putney, South London, in 1996 and were quickly signed to Trevor Jackson’s label Output label for their first albums, Ceefax (1997) and Semaphore (1998). The band moved to Go Beat! for Eph (1999) and then set up their own label Text for Happiness (2001). Meanwhile, alongside the group, its workaholic members were cooking up other projects. Kieran Hebden’s work as Four Tet first appeared on Output before he moved to Domino for the acclaimed Pause, Rounds and Everything Ecstatic. Adem Ilhan’s song writing also found a home with Domino with 2004’s Homesongs and 2006’s space-inspired Love and Other Planets way ahead of the current folk curve. Sam Jeffers has forged a successful web design practice while studying at LSE and Harvard.
