thestory.gif
Jan, Peter and Jule are living out their rebellious youth. They are united by their passion to change the state of the world. Jan and Peter become "The Edukators," mysterious perpetrators who non-violently warn the local rich their "days of plenty are numbered." Complications follow when vulnerable Jule ends up falling for both young men. Reckless choices result in danger. An operation gone wrong and what was never intended to be a kidnapping brings the three young idealists face-to-face with the values of the generation in power.

yeah, it's not bad. but you'll probably be disapointed as to the extent of the 'non-violently warn the local rich' storyline. not exactly life changing ideas. it's all carried out in a bit of a predictable and light way with no depth to the ideology being represented. it's a fairly tame but entertaining flick. deeper than most of the awfull hollywood shite normally in the cinema, but that's not really saying much. it's well shot and well acted though. you could do a lot worse.

this film is just more of this bullshit - sound arty by name dropping the situationists and not having a clue what their politics were all about..

"They're selling hippy wigs in Woolworth's,man." sums up the edukators for me

I saw "Black Box Germany" the other week - was kind of good - more into the personalities and and realities around the politics than the politics if you know what i mean

Black Box BRD steps back into German history, showing the Federal Republic of Germany of the 70s and 80s. The country is polarised due to the power struggle of the German state and the ‘Red Army Faction’, and thus on a consistent brink of civil war. Society is torn, the fronts are irreconcilable. The life stories of both the former terrorist, Wolfgang Grams and former CEO of the Deutsche Bank, Alfred Herrhausen are tragically linked to this era.
