Way too simplistic dude. Lots of the mothers from my circle of friends went part-time or stopped working after having kids, and none of the couples chose who was going to stay at home based on money. Here's some other possible reasons for the Mam to stay at home rather than the Dad:
- she wants to stay home more than he does (even if she earns more and likes her job more than he does, like in mine and Mrs. egg's case)
- easier for her to get consent from an employer to go part time than it is for him
- men don't have boobs

If she's planning to breastfeed longterm, the last one is the real clincher
