Sooooooooooooooo.

Who'd be up for getting together in a room with a drummer, some drums and a bunch of mics?
Try out different mics, mic positions and stuff like that.
Maybe learn a thing or two to help improve your home recordings.

I'm tossing up between bringing a laptop into a rehearsal room, or maybe everyone chucking in a tenner to rent a few hours in a cheap studio.

Thoughts?

I'd be into to it to get a better idea of getting a good sound from my drums in the studio.
Would also be into getting a whole bunch of drummers in one room with just a few mics.
Just got home from a live sound gig with 30 odd banjo players. Membranic resonators. Worked for every penny I was payed.

Cool guys.

We could get a place in two from 5pm to 11pm for about 120.
There's about 8 of us so far, not far off the 12 we'd need to make it a tenner each, which I think is pretty reasonable.
How does that sound?
