Is it ever acceptable to download an album for free?

If an album is say 35 or even 40 plus years old, is that okay?

I think it is acceptable if it is nigh on impossible to acquire the album legitimately. Otherwise it is cybertheft.

For sharing I take a different view.

As the message states on my blog - "My policy is to primarily include records that are out of print and no longer commercially available"

i.e. I'm not likely to put up anything that's readily available to buy.
