Minneapolis, Minnesota’s One For The Team make their Irish debut in Whelan’s on July 17.

“One For The Team has a way of carrying on the nostalgic feeling of the parasol days of Midwestern pop while giving us an engrossing set of songs...” – Daytrotter.com

“This Minneapolis crew excels at crafting quality tunes.” – AbsolutePunk.net

“’Best Supporting Actor’ is a bear hug of a song in terms of its pop strangle hold.” – thealbumproject.net

Started by Afternoon Records’ founder Ian Anderson, the band has released two full-length albums, Good Boys Don't Make Noise (Afternoon Records) and Build It Up (Afternoon Records/The Militia Group) in 2008.

Originally intended as an outlet for Anderson’s pop-songs that didn’t quite the aesthetic of his first band, [Aneuretical], One For The Team started as a strictly-studio side project. After releasing Good Boys Don’t Make Noise the band received a mass of critical acclaim, which moved the project from the studio onto the stage.

Although receiving attention almost exclusively via blogs and building large fan-bases in New York, Los Angeles, England, Germany and Japan, One For The Team stuck to the Midwest while Anderson finished his undergraduate degree in English at [Saint Olaf College] in Northfield, Minnesota.

After several tours and multiple member changes, which included Bill Caperton [Ela], One For The Team settled on its current lineup which features synth player Grace Fiddler and drummer Elliot Manthey.

Soundwise, One For The Team offers everything fans of sunny, yet never superficial alternative pop music can wish for: Mixed male and female vocals, playful guitars and keyboards and very catchy songs. After extensive US touring, playing shows with everybody from British Sea Power to Voxtrot the group are now ready to win the hearts of European Indie boys and girls.

Heritage Centre:

"The bastard sons of Weezer and Blur." - Hot Press

“These guys are on the way to bigger and better things and they have no one to thank for their success so far but themselves.” - State.ie

Having received airplay both national and international, Heritage Centre have successfully etched their name into the etch-a-sketch of up and coming Irish acts. Debut E.P. The City, The Tree and The Fox was released to a sold out Whelan’s earlier this year. Having already been tipped as ones to watch in 2009, they have just completed a nationwide tour.
