Dogs are great in a similar way to kids. If they're someone else's.

Otherwise there is far too much cleaning up of shit and pretending you really don't care about that latest thing of yours that they've destroyed.

My friend has a weimaraner - a wonderfully stupid dog.
He 'poops' (I've observed people tend toward euphemism when they want to downplay the widespread defecation happening in front of them) like a muck-spreader and chews digital cameras or expensive phones whenever possible.
Apart from that he's great fun altogether. He really is.

That is one very sweet lookin' dog.
Our gorgeous girl Patch (Staffy/Lab cross) got killed the week before christmas .She darted out in the road when she saw a bunny on the other side and got hit by a car.
It was a very very sad Christmas in our house.
Here is her.

Her christmas pressie was wrapped under the tree already but her brother Mud( not biological brother but.) dutifully opened it for her .
Here he is doing some modelling work.
