https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H2FzCUWpogA
The track ‘Sync’ from the EP was premiered on Stereogum.com http://www.stereogum.com/1696265/cloud-castle-lake-sync-stereogum-premiere/mp3s/ and received a great review on Pitchfork http://pitchfork.com/reviews/tracks/17037-cloud-castle-lake-sync/
“Visceral and celebratory… cascading rhythms, triumphal brass, and a general sense of euphoria.” – Stereogum
“But at the exact point you'd think, "I've heard this before," bongos start to bubble and brows furrow—hmmm. And rather than heralding a regal procession, the horns erupt into an unanticipated merger of earthly funk and otherworldly vocals, like if Kings of Limbs or Atoms for Peace could actually groove. So yes, it is influenced by Radiohead. But Cloud Castle Lake are the extremely rare case where a band incorporates not just the vocals and the rhythmic vibrancy, but also the pioneering spirit.” – Pitchfork
“The Dublin three-piece build this track from its cool, calm beginnings into an epic cacophony of noise that feels something like the lovechild between Sigur Ros and Wild Beasts… if this first outing is anything to go by, we can expect pretty special things to come from Cloud Castle Lake.” – Best Line of Fit
Establishing their name with a series of incendiary live shows with the likes of Glasser and Nigel Godrich's Ultraísta, the trio of Daniel McAuley, Brendan Jenkinson and Rory O'Connor spent their formative months finely honing their craft away from invasive eyes. Removing themselves from their hometown surrounds, 'Dandelion' was created in select studios and locations around Ireland.
An emphatic statement confirming their youthful ambition, 'Dandelion' displays a trio coming to a new peak of their eclectic powers. Shooting through influence from pastoral folk to soaring instrumental melodies - all held together by vocalist Daniel McAuley's remarkable falsetto - Cloud Castle Lake's patience, intelligence and bravery is rewarded within the breath-taking scope of 'Dandelion'.
