Their first album was on DHR. I didn't think it was particularly good.

But last year's 76/77 (on Monika Records) was one of my favourite releases of 2004. Good, fun electropunk.

They played here a few months back, in Whelan's as part of an all-Berlin lineup. I didn't go (I was away at the time), but I heard glowing reports about the gig.

Ya i knew you'd get who it was! i saw Cobra Killer for free and they damn fine into the bargain. I got an Omar A. Rodriguez (of Mars Volta and ATDI fame) solo gig tonight for 8euro so that should be a laugh

they're pretty darn good it has to be said

Definitely. 76/77 is one of my own personal favourite albums of the '00s so far, and the collaboration they did with that mandolin group -- Kapajkos or something like that -- is also excellent. (The first album is a bit meh, though.)

Never seen 'em live -- the first time they played here I was out of the country, and the last scheduled gig was cancelled. I hope there's a Dublin date as well.
