CLUB AU IN ASSOCIATION WITH MILLER GENUINE DRAFT – SATURDAY NOVEMBER 22

Club AU in association with Miller Genuine Draft is a three-roomed extravaganza featuring the best in Irish bands, artists and DJs. There has never been a better time for music in Ireland, and the two main strongholds of Belfast and Dublin both boast extremely healthy scenes. The goal of Club AU is to continue to build bridges across Ireland and to bring the best in music to new audiences. A combination of the hottest Irish bands, both north and south, will continue to take to the stage of The Attic. The Ball Room plays host to OMGWTFDISCO, with FAUX DJs manning the decks. The Bunker Club will continue to be the staple of Lavery’s, with Gregz McCann guaranteeing enough dancefloor action to fell an elephant. The times will be good.

CASHIER NO.9
The brainchild of Alloy Mental and former Corrigan guitarist Danny Scott, Cashier No.9 is the sound of one man moving to centre stage and taking the limelight himself. Along with his three bandmates and a laptop, Scott’s shuffling, country and folk-flavoured indie rock has already taken him to the BBC Electric Proms in London, the Knitting Factory in New York and a slot at the David Holmes-curated Bernard Shaw stage at this year’s Electric Picnic, as well as a raft of national radio play. With fantastic debut single ’42 West Avenue’ just released and a burgeoning live reputation, this is the time to see them up close.

GRAND POCKET ORCHESTRA
This quartet of Dublin indie-popsters claim to be influenced by everyone from Gilbert and Sullivan and Puccini to mclusky and My Bloody Valentine. And probably beyond, in both directions. With live instrumentation including a mandolin, xylophone and, er, scissors, they make a joyously tuneful racket and are sure to be quite the spectacle live. Fans of Of Montreal, Neutral Milk Hotel and Los Campesinos!, get down to this.

PANDA KOPANDA
Kicking things off in fine style will be Belfast indie legends Panda Kopanda, a band that have been thrilling audiences throughout these islands and further afield for several years now. With two rapturously received EPs already under their belt and the long-awaited debut album to be released in January, the band can call on a formidable arsenal of tunes. Recalling the likes of Pavement, Death Cab For Cutie and Sebadoh, their twitchy yet heart-rending take on indie is an experience not to be missed.
