BORING THREAD ALERT!

What the cheapest place for getting stuff like a futon or a desk and stuff? I've no motor so a trip up north to Ikea isn't really possible.

Bargaintown? Argus? Is it a rip off everywhere?

Have you tried freecycle? Dunnes on George's St have decent stuff. And there's Ikea in Belfast now...

ive got some cool (cheap) stuff from oxfam on francis st - but they might not have futons.
for cheap as youre going and ok quality its going to be Argos.

ALSO - homebase do some furniture - sometimes cheap sometimes bizarrely expensive - anyway, if you see something you like - check and see if any homebase in the north have the same and they deliver to the republic FOR FREE.

order from a homebase in dublin and you'll be charged - order from one at least three hours drive away and its free.

all the good furniture tends to be snapped up pretty quickly but you could be lucky and its free.
