Its bang on alright. There is an episode of Walker Texas Ranger which nails the situation even better though. The daughter of the Gerry Adams character comes to Dallas for treatment and Walker has to protect her from being kidnapped by the more hardcore elements of the IRA, who always wear flat caps and tweed jackets. Cant find it on the web though.

There's a really terrible movie about Irish gangsters in America where they all wear tweed and flat caps, I forget the name of it but its a love story between a bimbo and an old style Irish crooner, sings Danny boy a lot... anyway tis set in the present so tis bizarre bejaysus
