CANE 141
In a career that has seen them feted by among others The Guardian, Uncut and John Peel; as well as collaborations with the likes of Mark Eitzell and Sean O’Hagan and Christian Vogel, Galway band Cane 141 have been quietly building a peerless reputation as musical innovators over the last 10 years in Ireland.

Their sound is a mix of guitar infected melodies laced together by electronic shimmies at turns funky and subtle. Defying easy categorisation, each new release is met with anticipation and their most recent album, the mainly instrumental ‘Moon Pool’, was nominated for the inaugural Choice Music Award earlier this year.

Apart from an appearance at the Choice Award ceremony in Vicar Street this is their first time playing in Dublin since 2003.

Quotes
"The world needs bands like Cane 141." Uncut

"There's something undeniably charming about a band like Cane 141, who really walk it like they talk it...Everything here is heart felt and unique. " NME

"Taking lo-fi to mesmerising new places." Hot Press

DONAL DINEEN
At a time when Irish broadcasters were consistently failing to provide a platform for innovative music (both Irish and international), Donal Dineen helped create such a space on the national airwaves. Through his work on alternative music programme No Disco, and subsequent radio shows on Radio Ireland and Today FM, Dineen has consistently promoted music that matters in a heartfelt and honest manner.

No slave to the vagaries of fashion or the commercial demands of radio his playlists easily glide across a variety of genres and eras. Expect to hear everything from the euphoric Northern Soul stomp of Frankie Valli, the avant garde disco of Arthur Russell through to contemporary electronic pioneers such as DJ Koze and Dabrye.

DRY COUNTY
Dry County are Kevin Littlewood, Phil Porter, Joanne Parle and Stuart Flood. They have generally been recognised as one of the freshest and most interesting acts to emerge from Ireland in recent times. Live performances throughout the last 18 months have seen the band build a growing audience for their post-everything pop music.

Shows at the Mor Festival, Spiegel Tent, Visonic Festival in Belfast, Donal Dineen's Small Hours Christmas Show, IMRO showcase, Bud Rising and the Electric picnic have made a huge impact on discerning Irish listeners. They have also just come back from a hugely successful gig in Berlin as part of the Popkomm festival.

Their work brings together programmed beats with a carefully arranged band sound; guitars, keyboards, bass, vocals and occasionally live drums are added to the mix. Influences range from New Order to Animal Collective, Bjork to Boards of Canada. The 'Nothing Stays in Place' mini album was released by Lazybird in 2004, but sold out and was reissued this year. 'Lost Now' has become something of a signature tune for the band, and was featured on the HMV playlist CD in June and the EP is now available in HMV stores around the country.

Dry County are currently completing their debut album proper, material from which can be downloaded from www.drycounty.org.

Quotes
“If you are looking for something a little different check out Dry County, 'Nothing Stays in Place' is the perfect soundtrack to the twilight hours." Dan Hegarty, RTE 2 FM

"Dry County's Lost Now' merges rock and experimental electronica in a way that would make Thom Yorke and Damon Albarn proud. It's full of swirling melodies and interesting ideas." Hot Press
