BRAINDEAD
"BrainDead formed as a three-piece in 2001 in a small town near Hamburg, Germany. Their aim was to play skacore in the vain of such bands as Operation Ivy, Choking Victim, Against All Authority and Assorted Jelly Beans. Starting of under the name of “Die Skaninchen”, they soon began to record demo CDs and to play shows all around Germany. Since early 2004 they’ve also been touring foreign countries like Netherlands, Denmark, France or Austria.
Today, having played about 100 shows, BrainDead still focus on bringing you the harder, more political side of Ska-Punk music, mixing in everything they like, be it Dub, Hardcore or Punk’n Roll.
They have played with bands like Leftover Crack, PAWNS, Behind Enemy Lines, ZSK, Normahl, The Movement, Restarts, Heideroosjes, Antidote, Beans... and to date brought out one album (selfreleased) and one split CD with Civil War from the Netherlands (Crash landing records), as well as several demo CDs. For 2008, they plan to record a full length Album and to do two more tours that should bring them all around Germany and - for the first time – to the UK and Ireland
