Same deal with the Mayan lads that all got wiped out from the flu, they left all those cool cities because they fucked the climate and it sent them back to the stone age.

Luckily nothing like that is likely to happen anytime soon.
 
So, basically, less people and more trees?

It's more about how you use resources (soil and food essentiallu). Less people would work of course, but if you want to have city every farmer has to be able to produce 5-10 times what they eat themselves or otherwise city/urban/3rd party eating based society collapses and you are a hunter/gatherer again. they didn't crop rotate and they fucked up the best soil in their valleys and that was that, abandon the cities and off into the wilds to cling to survival.
 
I meant more like when society collapses we get more trees and less people. That sounds good to me. You and I will obviously survive.
