I find it worse when a classic song, a song you like is used in an advert, especially with bastardised lyrics. The song then becomes a jingle, inextricably linked to a product .

Yeah I blame Heiniken on opening Love will Tear us Apart to the masses and turning an achingly beautiful song into an anthemic air punching anthem. I also blame New Order and Banry Sumner shouting c'mon and Yeah during its live performances.

I'm also pissed off at The Only Ones giving Another Girl Another Planet to Vodafone. That song used to mean something special to me and now it's just the tune used to hock phones at the masses.
