Billy Childish is one hell of a writer (2 Viewers)

That gallery where Daniel johnston did a signing in London had tons of Billy Childish stuff.

Novels, art and posters esp that one of him fighting Jack White that there was some kerfuffle about last year.

good article actually. liked that quote also about the strokes inventing ' a new kind of hair metal'!! hehe

"The death of rock'n'roll" my arse
That shit irritates me. I like Sgt Pepper's. I don't like The Arcade Fire. Do you care? No. Why should you?

I don;t necessarily care whether or not you like the Arcade Fire, but if you had the talent to deconstruct it in writing like that dude from Scritti Politti then I might care a little more.

Sorry, lost the run of myself. Talk of "the death of rock'n'roll", as if rock'n'roll was some significant political movement, reminds me of the sort of bollockology BP Fallon comes out with. I have a soft spot for Beep, but his world-view is pretty stupid

I bought Daydream Nation lately. Sounds like every humourless long-winded underground band in Dublin. ONLY MESSING I love youz guyz

Wayne Coyne's piece on 'Nevermind' is interesting. Shame he fails to recognise that Fl'ips got a major label deal on the back of the scramble for 'the next Nirvana'.
Alex Kapranos dissing 'Marquee Moon' too? Deary me. All haircut, no trousers that lad.

Well Billy Childish's whole musical world view is based around the fact that good music stopped being made around 1965, and that the Kinks only ever wrote one good song.

He's a fruitcake, but a fuckin brilliant one in my book. How many albums has he lashed out, about 80? And all the one's I have (5 or 6) are rockin'.

And his review of Sgt Peppers is gold
