THE country's least-populated county is experiencing a baby boom which has resulted in most creches being booked up until 2009.

Demand for infant places in creches in parts of Co Leitrim has now reached the stage where expectant mothers are booking places for their unborn babies.

In some cases, couples who have not yet conceived are paying deposits for the baby they are hoping for.

It's only a matter of time before this becomes a universal problem... but booking a creche before you've conceived... maybe that would be a solution to the schools problem too?
