Just had a beautiful lunch in Khyber on Sth William street. It's an indian (possibly Pakistani) restaurant. How is this for a lunch deal:

3 vegetable pakoras
1/2 portion Nann bread
Lamb Jalfrezi
Pilau rice
Ice cream
Tea or coffee

...for just €11!!!

Service was quick and the place was clean and relaxed. Best kept secret if you ask me.

Gubu/Soup Dragon- 5er for a bowl of hearty soup, bread and fruit. Never choc a block either so good if yer constrained for time.
Also 2 minutes away from work.

Tulsi on Baggot St. beside Tesco, exact same as the Khyber!

I wish I worked in town. All the coffee shops and tings here (maynooth) are either fast food-tastic or madly overpriced because they have such a captive audience.

Breakfast rolls at lunchtime generally aren't that fresh or nice.

Best eaten around 8 or 9 in the morning.

deli suz on blessington st; mad salads, sandwiches on 6 types of bread, soup etc, all for centra prices

The Market Bar. The menu is pretty varied (maybe not so good for veggies) and the portions are great value for €6.50. Also always empty during lunchtime.

The cheese croquettes with apple sauce are great. Vegetarians: take note.

I have found the market bar food a little stodgy to be honest. Atmos is nice. Russ Abbott would like it.
