It¹s BANTER time again

BANTER returns to the Twisted Pepper (Middle Abbey Street, Dublin 1) with
discussions in August, September and October.

BANTER is a series of informal monthly discussions about pop culture stuff.

BANTER #1 in early July featured Paul McLoone from Today FM and The Golden
Maverick from Power FM talking with Banter host Jim Carroll about the state
of music radio in Ireland. You can download a podcast of this discussion at
www.thetwistedpepper.com

In the coming months, BANTER will look at DIY culture, the early days of
Irish clubland and the new media landscape....All talks are held pre-POGO , Saturday evenings. Some will follow with music , news on that too follow

AUGUST 15

BANTER 2 - THE A TO Z OF DIY

Dylan Haskins (Hideaway House, Exchange Dublin) and Niall McGurk (Hope
Promotions) talk about alternative all-age gig spaces in Ireland and the
politics of doing gigs in gaffs, church halls and community centres.

The discussion will be preceded by a screening of Roll Up Your Sleeves,
Dylan Haskins¹ documenary about DIY culture and alternative ways of
organising, working and thinking.
The documentary will be screened at 8.00pm and the discussion will begin at
845pm.

Yeah, this was really good. I really hope Dylan's 'Exchange Dublin' takes off, it's a great idea
