Here's something about Red Sirus:
Red Sirus
2005 seen Belfast based art rockers Red Sirus produce a brand of music that
stands on it's own, against any of the records produced thus far. With a
full UK tour at the start of the year, they paved the way for the release of
their self-titled EP during the summer.
Sold out tour support slots alongside Snow Patrol, The Bravery, as well as
packed headline shows across the country and constant national radio airplay
have ensured the band a devout and ever-increasing following.
2006 see's the band pick up the "Ones to Watch in 2006" tag from a host of
music shows and publications, including BBC Radio 1, Hotpress Magazine, AU
Magazine, The Telegraph and The Irish News, which prompted appearances on
both national & international TV, including the BBC and French national TV.
The next few months will see the release of their highly anticipated mini-album,
followed by dates nationwide.
Their latest EP sees the band grabbing the "most talked about" label, with a
recent gush of positive media and Smalltown America's latest label
compilations having picked up on two of their tracks.
Incendiary live shows, filled with musical drama and big on attitude, have
seen their home shows draw big audiences, while festival stages, including
Tennents Vital and Oxegen, are already hosting them.
Press:
The crack and fizzle of Red Sirus makes for a heady brew. It's all
atmosphere and reaching, cascading soundscapes sewn together with an
underpinning pop sensibility.
(Stuart Bailie, BBC)
A fine noise, with lots of pounding drums amid busy and buzzy guitars and a
singer with confidence and panache. Heavy pop that stomps all over you. Ones
to watch in 2006.
(Jackie Hayden, Hot Press)
Self assured and confident, compelling stuff. Their introspective rock has
enough personality to win over more or less anyone. It's next-level stuff
altogether.
(Ciaran Tracey, Metal Ireland)
An aggressive, yet melodic punch, packing universal appeal.
(John Earls, Channel 4)
