The Invisable, silent, free school of music.
Assignment No. 1
Record 20+ mins of improvised music. No limits on the music. Whatever you want it to be. burn one cd and delete any other copies of the music(make sure it is irretreavable). Now make a nice cover. All design must be by yourself. Make an inlay page that says a few bits and pieces about the music and or whatever else you want. On a seperate piece of paper you must write and explain that this is the only copy of that music in the world and that whoevers hands it is in is responsible for the life or death of that music. Also state that it is copywrite free and for it to prosper relies on being copied, borrowed, swapped and distributed. Now you must give it to someone. The only stipulation regarding who recieves it is that it must be an uncomfortable task to perform. In this instance fear is vital and in my opinion the performance is artless without . The fear can be felt in the act of presenting it, the thought of them hearing the music or both. Other than that the person is completly up to you. Also the manner of your presentation is particularly important but is completly decided by you.
Date 14/02/08. V-day is a good chance to make this a performance involving as many people as possible. So thats the deadline for anyone who wants to be involved. Everyone who participates please write something in response to your experience and if i get enough submissions ill publish them and we could as a group consider similar future free music performances.
