17th ANNUAL ARDS INTERNATIONAL GUITAR FESTIVAL
A collection of the worlds finest guitar players come to Ards
The 17th Annual Ards International Guitar Festival takes place over 5 days from 25th – 29th September 2013.

Now in its 17th year, the annual event that began life a small classical festival, in recent years has taken on a much more international and eclectic feel. Although still a niche festival, it provides opportunities to see world class guitar players at intimate gigs and outside of City centre venues. Artists confirmed for this years festival include, The Lost Brothers, Catfish Keith, Frank & Vinny, Preston Reed, Guy Pratt, Roland Dyens, The Emerald Armada and many more.

The festival comprises 5 days of gigs, free fringe concerts, guitar clinics, tours of the Avalon Guitar Factory and this year a mini Guitar Trade showcase also.

Festival Director Emily Walsh says ‘'This year's Ards International Guitar Festival is tuning up to be one of the most eclectic in the events 17 year history. There are lots of guitar based events happening over 5 days at the end of September and we're particularly excited to welcome International acts such as Roland Dyens on the classical guitar, bottleneck slide guitarist Catfish Keith and New York jazz virtuoso Frank Vignola. With the Avalon factory tours back on the programme and our biggest selection of guitar clinics to date, there is something for everyone”.

Further Information on this Festival for guitar lovers is available on http://www.ardsguitarfestival.co.uk, on Facebook at Ards International Guitar Festival or Twitter at ArdsGuitarFest. Programmes and tickets are available by contacting Ards Arts Centre on 028 91810803.

Went to one of the first Ards Guitar Festivals and saw the Groundhogs. It was in the Town hall or something. They were so good, almost had to walk back to Belfast after, but lucked out on a taxi in the middle of nowhere.
