Shay Cotter is bit of a ledgon.
He made his first TV debut on the RTE show 'PM LIVE'
At an early age he started the very first trad sessions in temple bar!
He was the very first person to ever play at Vicar Street!
Shay has gone on to release 2 albums. 2000 saw him release
his debut album 'Morning Insomniac' to a hail of critical response which
had DJ, PJ CURTIS calling him "an absolutely marvellous live performer" and
Galway songwriter Sean Tyrell proclaiming "
I was totally gob smacked
by his ability on guitar and the lyrics and melodies he writes are
brilliantly constructed and also his command of an audience and his stage
presence".

When Shay takes to the stage his songs come alive. His lyrical
narration is outstanding. Finishing with one sentence and leaving
you gasping to hear its conclusion, his highly original 10 minute
live song 'Dr.Skairee' a good example of this. His guitar playing
is like a band as he plucks, pulls, hammers and bends every last
note to create the illusion of many instruments rolled into a single
guitar. Vincent Smullen from IN DUBLIN magazine was moved to declare
"Shay stuns the audience with his guitar virtuosity and catchy songs".

2003 saw him release his second album 'Medication Time' recorded
with Frankie Lane

2004-2005 has been such a busy time for Shay. He has supported the likes of
Richie Havens (Woodstock legend), Paul Brady,
.|..|

Support comes from up and coming starlet herself
Nicole Brennan-O’Dwyer.
