its expensive but well worth it. Upstarts do fuck all gigs, splodge haev only played ghere once i think

both bands are headline acts in my opinion, just wish we were on the bill still!!!

although, give the amount of money its costing to put it on, I am kind of glad it isn't my gig as its a bit much for my nervous system!

Im not making any profit on this gig & have made an extra effort to put on a quality line up. I have set the admission price as low as I can. The expenses are very heavy, the main ones being the fee & flights for the 2 UK bands. Based on my original calculations I needed 180 to pay in before breaking even, but there have been other costs that I had not provisioned for & I now need more than 200 to pay in before breaking even. I am in fact taking a big risk & more than likely am going to make a loss. I am doing it purely as a fan of the bands & the music. Mensi will be on vocals with the Upstarts on the night.

but no, he didn't make it all back, but it was quite close as there were a lot of people there. I'm sure the bands would have taken a tiny hit, but he didn't want to go down that road.

Instead there is a gig going to happen early next year with the fantastic band the dipsomaniacs andus on the bill and we have volunteered our services, design and backline for free so he can make back the loss!

That's good that the guy who put this on wasn't too badly out of pocket. That is always the risk when putting bands on and part of the reason I lost interest in doing this type of thing.
