Angel Olsen - Big Time (1 Viewer)

Great, I think shes amazing but her albums have been patch enough. Looking forward to giving this a listen. Way more than I'm looking forward to listening to Harry Stiles anyway.

I'd agree on the patchiness of some of her records. I haven't been mad about the one's between Burn your fire ... and this one. There's been good stuff on them all but as full records I haven't thought they were great.

I always like her albums with lots of instruments, less so her hushed, precious, acoustic guitar and voice only albums. My Woman is still her highpoint for me (I argued it was patchy at the time, I was wrong) although I was super into at least parts of All Mirrors; I've also noticed that Burn Your Fire is well underrated by many as a misstep into "indie" when in fact it's a class album.

Anyway, I didn't want a country album from her anymore than I wanted a 70s pastiche album from St. Vincent but i've listened to the first 4 or 5 tracks on this a few times and i'm starting to really like it.

Every time something from this comes on the radio it makes me smile
Takes me back somewhere, I don't know where

It's wonderful
