“Judge’s vocal makes me think that we’ve found the next Kate Bush.” – Ashley Keating, Green On Red, Red FM

Alterosa seek to do what few bands today seem to be doing: create the kind of music that should only be listened
to through headphones in a darkened room. It’s music with sweeping pads, whispered vocals, sharp corners and
dark colours. Driven guitars, inexorable bass grooves and sinister synth hooks combine with Judge’s understated
vocal to create an intense mood that ensnares the listener. Their mission is reflected in the simple title of
their new EP: “Listen”.

Snowman fc are one of Ireland's most exciting new bands blending beautiful music with a vibrant and unique live show. Snowman hail from Cork and the band is made up of Shane Clancy (lead vocals), James Breen (guitar & vocals), Craig Cullen (Drums and vocals) and Keith Clancy (bass & vocals). Snowman fc’s live shows have been described as manic orgies of fun filled mayhem, while their music as mixture of melodic-art rock, funk, pop and one or two stoned psycho gypsy riffs. Snowman's sound is very eclectic thanks to the many different influences that drive the members of the band.

The last year has been a very successful year for Snowman fc seeing them crowned ‘Irelands Best Unsigned Band’ by winning the JD Sets for Ireland. Through this they have recorded their debut single Butterfly (due for release NOV 7th 2008) and were invited to record in Nashville Tennessee with R.E.M producer David Barbe and to play at the world renowned Jack Daniels Legendary Mash event. The trip was a success capturing the imaginations of the music loving crowd. Through the event Snowman fc got featured in the June edition of Rolling stone magazine, among other media groups in print and on screen. 2008 has also seen them invited to play Irelands coveted I.M.R.O showcase tour, highlighting Irelands best up and coming music.

Snowman fc are currently recording their debut album, (set for release in 2008) and shall be touring the country throughout 2008 with the release of their first single on 7th of november, the single is Butterfly.

Shane Barry and The Distractions

DSC_0667.jpg

Since they began, Shane Barry and the Distractions have been ignoring the disco beat, the 1,2,3,4's and spiked guitars of modern music's biggest culprits. Instead, they have fashioned their sounds from the golden glare of 1970's fm radio. Their debut album 'Radio Friction' is due for national release early next year, but has already received great praise from within the industry. The band have sought out the mastering skills of Stuart Hawkes (Amy Winehouse) to give the album an old school 70's warmth.
The original lineup of 4 has expanded to include a brass section with all the moves of the Stax and Motown back catalogue! The band are on a nationwide tour, to promote debut single, 'Stop', which will take in supports with Ron Sexsmith, The Stunning and the Pale. For more info see www.shanebarry.com
