Did you get my email?
I just finished Untold Stories and went straight out and bought Writing Home. Both are collections of memoire, articles, obituaries, lectures and odds and sods. I have also bought and am working my way through the Talking Heads box set: 14 half hour monologues by different characters in various tales about lonliness and quasi kitchen sink low level depression. I don't sell it well but they are absolutely fantastic (probably all on youtube).
I am working on writing the new album (66% done) and feel like I'm getting somewhere, and then I look at and read Bennett's stuff and feel like a complete amateur.
He's had several artistic lives: in Beyond the Fringe (proto-Monthy Python) with Peter Cook/Dudley Moore/Johnathon Miller; playwright; actor; TV dramatist; and now writer and all round good egg with almost Stephen Fry levels of likeability.
And he's a gay.
