ableton and cd decks sync (1 Viewer)

can anyone tell me if it is difficult to sync cd decks with ableton? how do you go about it?

Unless you have a beat->midi clock generator for the output of your CD decks I'd imagine it's impossible.

if they are proper cd decks, your only way of doing it is the old fashoined way - the pitch.

you could use the tempo tapping function in ableton. Start yer cd then tap the beat into ableton and it'll run at the same tempo. Awful fuckin' fiddly though and only as accurate as your fingers...

Alternatively. Get some program that follows beats, hook it up to the speakers, connect the prog to some sort of robot arm that'll tap the tempo into ableton for you, easy!
