I've seen 0 of those films. Wrestler is the only one Im slightly interested in. They any use?

Ron Howard films are usually schmaltzy bullshit. This one an exception?

I've not seen Wall-E but thought that threre was little to know dialogue in it?

Surely there was more deserving contenders for best screenplay??

i've only seen Wall-e, Dark Knight and In Bruges...Frost/Nixon looks enjoyable. Want to see Wrestler.

For the record...Tropic Thunder was shit and Bob Downey was ok (wobbles a spread, level hand ) but Joker Ledger will take the Support Male because he was excellent...not just dead...transformed himself, the character and the film.

Is it just me or have all the Oscar movies come out later than ever this time? I've only seen the reader out of the Best Film nominees.

There's dialogue after about 20 minutes.
Not that the dialogue is that good.

A screenplay is as much about how the story is told as the dialogue itself. I'd imagine the screenplay was very concisely written, especially the parts with no dialogue - which were the best parts of the film.

Achievement in music written for motion pictures (Original song)

* “Down to Earth” from “WALL-E” (Walt Disney), Music by Peter Gabriel and Thomas Newman, Lyric by Peter Gabriel
* “Jai Ho” from “Slumdog Millionaire” (Fox Searchlight), Music by A.R. Rahman, Lyric by Gulzar
* “O Saya” from “Slumdog Millionaire” (Fox Searchlight), Music and Lyric by A.R. Rahman andMaya Arulpragasam

No Bruce

Worst nominations ever....

Doesn't it just mean how much playing there was on screen?...wall&eve looked like they were having great fun buzzin around.

yeah a screenplay is the story, plot and characters...like a play...on screen

No Bruce

Worst nominations ever....

I was just coming onto this thread with the assumption that Bruce HAD been nominated, and I was gonna go, "Can we not just give them all to Bruce?"

And now this!

THE ACADEMY OF TOTAL INJUSTICE

Well, now the Spook fellas have something in common with Bruce: both were totally robbed by being left of lists of award nominees.

BRRUUUUUUUUUUUCE!

I think it's always well into Jan before we start to see the films with the big Oscar buzz released here.

It's a pain in the arse.

From what I see travelling there is normally not much difference between release dates any more except around this time of year when the oscar contenders are pushed earluer in the US.

God you're a berk. Is the award called 'BEST DIALOGUE'???

A pair of sexually repressed, mute robots noncing around in space because we didn't recycle??? Fuck that shit

As I said I haven't seen it

Donkey Punch was robbed.

These aren't awards for art, they're for money generating vehicles which may occasionally masquerade as art.

It's still art. But the awards themselves are meaningless on that level.

Anyway, good to see someone whose stuff I like getting nominated which might mean that he can go on and make more stuff I might like.
