hi there,

my first leap towards decent microphones and i am overwhelmed by options!

fundamental to my quest is that they provide a quality, true and non-colored representation of that which is transmitted oh and a low noise floor !!

the OKTAVIA-MK012's look interesting, me having a penchant for russian built gear, but i have read that there is a scam regarding the flooding of cheap rip-off models on the market which is putting me right off..

also, the Audio Technica 4041's and RODE NT-5's have caught my attention.

there is so much variety to choose from and im fully aware that it depends on application, setting, desired results, etc etc...

principally they would be used to capture Speakers and Amp's and for Field Recording.

any recommendations/ experiences would be warmly welcomed,

cheers!
tim.

i've had these for a few years (oktava's), they are very transparent or they seem so, i like them for it. they still work fine. since getting a samson rip off of a rode nt1 i've used them a lot less, but then i've been recording other people more then myself aswell.

edit:

i ahve a samson installation mic thats called the same as a d112 as far as i remember. its the most transparent unforgiving thing i have.
