Does anyone like this amazing band? Ive been into them for about four years and i've never met a single person who's even heard of them. Am i just hanging out with a bad crowd or are they really unheard of?

Um they're pretty unheard of, heard great things about them about 6 years ago and i got a mini album of theirs which i only listened to a few times, didn't do a lot for me. They still on the go?

there was a song of theirs on a cd that came with one of the first issues of kerrang i bought at the tender age of 14. they must've been being hyped up a bit at the time because this was also 6 years ago like edvardo said. so ha- i knew about them before you, which clearly makes me a better person all round. ha hoo.

that kerrang CD was how i got into them!!! "make out music" was the name of the song.

yeah that mini album aint great but their full lengths are excellent. think theyre still together, they were on V2 so its surprising theyre unheard of.

they must have been on more than one, because the song i have is called 'red'

ha i just went looking for the cd and i still have it! listening to it right now...it's got cold on it! remember them?!? and fu manchu! awesome!

Funny, My friend Skip is their manager. I have had to see them a few too many times. 12 Rods went on tour with Todd Rudgren at the Metro in Chicago. No offence to the Rods but Todd was an old fart who should have died back when he was big... like in the 1960's.

12 rods never really broke the US market and were dropped from their labels. They have been working on putting out a new EP independently but I haven't heard much since i got back in Ireland.

If you see anything by 12 rods, I'd be surprised. They are a good band though.

Alan, I am surprised though, I know your band... and you seem a bit heavy for 12 Rods.

FairPlay...

P.S. When are you guys getting your record out to the market?

this 12 rods song is an epic of meatloaf proportions. about 17 choruses so far, and no sign of any let-up.

Wishing death on Todd Rundgren is a cunty thing to do.

Todd went solo in 1970. During that decade he made some amazing records - the best being A Wizard A True Star,

His new album Liars .|..| .
I'm glad he's still alive.

haha thats true alright. See, im a total black sheep in my remorse cos 90% of what i listen to sounds nothing like us. I get non stop shit from the lads in the band for my taste in music!!! and i mean non-stop!

Our new EP is out in June. Hopefully we'll be able to play Dublin mid June, things are sketchy at the moment tho.

that's insane!
being in a band that doesn't sound exactly like the music you listen to!??!?
what the fuck!??!?!
how does that work!??!?!?!

andrew
ps - anyone want to start an iannis xenakis covers band? lol :))))

It is insane, but Alans band is really heavy man. No Joke. And the crowd really gets into their anger. I saw it first hand.

It's just seems to me, judging from the dedication of those guys to what they create that they ate, slept and spat 'Grind Core'.

I was saying that 12 rods and (pardon me if I am wrong on the band name alan) My Remorse, are not anywhere near comparable.

I am a 'Skinny Puppy' and 'Ministry' fanatic but my bands music is far from either of those.

Just thought it was cool.

Thats all.

hi-larious...

Beast, youre not the singer from NM are you? Is your name Chris by any chance? We were chatting the other day in Plugd with Dave.

Alan, I knew it was you. How's the kids, and your wife? You still look pretty good. Taking your vitamins? Are you ever started the jogging routine you talked about while we were on that business trip to Amsterdam? Remember the German hooker you nailed? What was her name? Wasn't is Grethen? Did you ever get the itching to go away? Did the ointments clear it up? You sure did look like you were in pain.... Like the time you tore that hole in your pants and had to use a stapler to fix it but pressed a little to close to your sack and had to go to the emergency room. Do you have wild engagement parties or what!!!

(I have no idea why i wrote this, just sounded like fun.)

Take care Alan.

nah, that was just a mild case of sweaty balls syndrome. A thing of the past now.

Wife's good. bit itchy tho.
