Got the eyes zapped last week.

Best thing ever - the things ye can see!

Eyes felt like chopped onions for 3 days, but I get to wear shades again. Perfect timing

Ah no, not at all

Total of €3,700 for both eyes (€1,850 per eye).
If you are in VHI, you get 15% off this.
You can also claim back 21% by doing tax things (med 1 form)

My procedure was PRK (as my eyesight wasn't that bad originally- needed glasses for driving, cinema, gigs, seeing stuff/people across the road etc).

The other procedures might be more expensive though...

Sure, you'd spend that in a life-time of glasses and lenses.
Mind you, I'm just 40. Everyone in my family wears glasses. Get checked every two years and they tell me I don't need glasses. Always wanted them. Grass is always greener I suppose.

You shoulda just got the one eye done now,the other later.Spread out the cost.

How's the night vision? I'd heard it can get affected by the procedure...

Its ok so far, but these bright evenings haven't tested them yet!

They are feeling pretty dry today though..

Was thinking about that, but in retrospecs (ho ho) I'm glad I didn't. Typical bloke, I can't deal with pain, and am glad I got it all over and done with in one go...

if you get laser treatment on perfect eyesight eyes can you see through walls after?

Is it true that you can smell you burning eyeball???? A friend of mine got it done and claimed that he could but we never believed him.

Everyone I know who's had it done says the same thing. But it's more "cooking eyeball" than burning eyeball.

I'm put off by the fact that it can go horribly wrong, and your eyesight changes all the time anyway so if I got it done now I'd probably need it done again in 10 years. Also, I get taken a lot more seriously when I'm wearing glasses.
