I had tickets for Pavement - but gave them to one of my students who made good use of them. I had seen them at Primavera in June, and loved the show, so didn't want to tamper with the memory - I am not sure if anyone else does that? But also, I couldn't muster up the enthusiasm for Vicar Street...

I just loved the Deerhunter matinee, it was a great atmosphere, great sound, BC rambling in the most wry way, all adding up to the best Saturday afternoon in ages.

I thought they were the opposite of 'meh', and hadn't seen them for so long, and had a wonderful time, but also, I didn't go to art school, so there was no danger of PTSD:)

I do that too, so often, but they'll be back!

Chromatics at Vicar Street last night. So beautiful and brilliant, and the covers of I'm on Fire and Running Up That Hill were :love: , and I love their new record. And people were quite well-behaved(y)

You're not out of touch, there's just too much to be in touch with! Dechord is the artist (Decal + Americhord) and Tengu is the venue - through Yamamori on the quays :giggle:

D1 Records 25 Year Anniversary in Tengu last night was just amazing. Dechord was my own highlight - but the whole thing was just so excellent - everything about it. Wish it happened every month, or even bimonthly :love:

Well, I didn't actually run from the airport to the Sound House. That would have been crazed :LOL:

I actually had been away the night before in London, and had taken the Friday off work -so ran from the airport to the Sound House, which meant I missed the support, sadly!

Oh God, it probably IS the first sign of madness (to be fair, there have been a few). I have to start putting tickets on my fridge again - I love printed tickets, but they often send you those damn pdf's and things can slip through the cracks! It's always a thing where I see things advertised...

Owen Ashworth in the Sound House - Advance Base - on Friday evening brought me back to a lovely space, and yes, the Sonic Youth evening was just wonderful. I did something mad in that I had seen Kamasi was sold out - and usually would try to find tickets, but it had been a tiring few days, and...

And thinking of another few concerts over the last couple of weeks - Wild Nothing at the Button Factory, and Bill Ryder-Jones in Whelans - just wonderful!

I so agree! The concert was so incredible, and beautiful, but some of the crowd were really terrible, it was strange, but I blocked them out and went into a better place in my mind!

i am sorry Jonah! My hope is that this will spearhead a creative period for her - where she actually records some more work, and then we get to see her sooner rather than later :)

Lauryn Hill on Friday was so great, and the visuals were impeccable - except for a couple of weird moments for Ex-Factor and a couple of other songs, where it was quite Microsoft 95 clip art - which was so strange, as the other visuals and footage were so good. Her voice remains so beautiful...

I must admit to being in a daze throughout, I loved every part of it, even the way Pharaoh drank from the water bottle. I know that sounds creepy! :love:

Oh no, I never think anyone is listening to my rambles! :oops: I had about a million other things to say, but they were running out of time, a 15 minute piece whittled down to about 6 :cry: but he is the best!
