It's the Friday 80s Pop song thread

Sheila E - The glamorous life (1984) I've probably posted this already, but its such a cool pop tune. Written by Prince in his golden/purple period. You can hear his voice in the background, and Sheila E :love::love:

What gig did you go to last night?

Wednesday in Opium, I don't think I've been to a gig there since a late night Pantha du Prince one in 2014. I suppose I never really warmed to the place even when it was The Village. Good, I really like their album from this year, Rat Saw God. Opener, because the original ones didn't play...

    The bands that got away…

I think that was The Shelter in Cork. Shane Fitzsimons put them on as part of his Jazz Me Bollix antifestival. They were very taken with their Jazz Me Bollix t-shirts.

    The bands that got away…

Yeah, no way that photo was taken in the Vicar Street Shelter. That's the version of Palace Brothers from the 1993 tour @old put on, with Henrique Prince on violin, and Vicar Street didn't open until 1998 Oldham did play there with Pajo, night before they played the big room with Paul O'Reilly.

What movie did you watch last night?

Dracula ad 1972. Can't remember when I last watched this one. A group of hip young hedonists in 1970s London resurrect the prince of darkness. Fairly routine stuff, but I liked it.
