hmmm were the tyres worn or were they just old. Tyres over 6 years old used to be "fail advisory". I wonder if that changed recently to fail? If so that'd be a problem. I'd usually buy second hand tyres that have loads of tread on them, good as new but they're technically over 6 years old.

I arrived there today and there was only 1 guy working. Big cross face on him as I pulled in. Eventually he came out to the waiting area as there was two of us waiting for visual inspections. He stormed across the room gesturing with his hand for us to give him our paperwork shouting "Hurry up...

So far I've rung the complaints section of the nct and spoken to two different mechanics. Word on the street is that a whole load of new NCT rules came in a few months ago and stuff that passed before fails now. So I'm not wasting the day and diesel going to Kells for nothing. I have a mobile...

Those bastards failed the fiesta on something it has NEVER failed on before. The dipped headlights are always on in that car. Always have been. It's been through the nct many times and never been an issue. I'm livid. The guy I dealt with was a dick. I rang NCT head office about it today, the...

Take the old one out and bring it to the motor factors to get a new one. I've had this simple job turn into a multi-trip pain in the arse.

I went for a test drive in a Leaf just for the craic. It was lovely. If I was commuting regular distances I'd definitely get an electric car. There's a nice Hyundai one I see in the village all the time. My biggest fear is that my whole life is already one big "is it charged" after another.

    1. 1980 Mini Great first car. Ended up being in the garage far too much and neither of us are petrol heads so we sold it for £100. It has since been done up beautifully. 2. Opel 1990 the car that they replaced with the Astra. Great yoke, bought it from Ross from Joan Of Arse. I had a few...

Almost has a quite serious smash today. We were going around a country-road bend in the normal way. I'm well used to meeting cars on this road. But today this "not quite a van - not quite a truck" came flying around the bend in the middle of the road. I hammered down on the brakes and aimed for...

I had to bite the bullet and Tax my Galaxy. At least I'll be selling it with a few months tax. If I can get that money back on the sale I'll be happy. Also, minor complaints. New car back trouble.

The time has come. I'm selling my 03 Ford Galaxy. It's the same car I gave out about on this very thread. However it sailed through the NCT a year ago. It's problems are very fixable right now. Front Ball joints need fixing, roughly €100 job. The passenger door needs a little help opening and it...
