Worth noting that at night, I usually have four lights on the bike - two front and two rear. Yet I'm still not compliant with the law, which stipulates the physical size of the light, not how bright it should be. Those laws haven't been updated in more than half a century AFAIK.

Excuse me, I meant a personal choice as to what kind of bell. I don't want whatever bell TREK thinks I should have.

A bell itself I would say is essential

You're required to have a bell unless your bike has 'been equipped for racing ' or some such clause.

This thing just appeared in the gaff. Titus, apparently. Ovoid carbon tubing. Weird double front gears, 44/24 or something. Why go carbon but have two bottle cages.

Apparently LBS is having a clear out and housemate now has this and at least one other bike frame he'll never use.

They are pretty though.
