Yes, that's why I said interchangeable, like he does now with McGeady and McClean, and even Trap did it. McClean also prefers the left for sure...

Hoolahan is injured. Hendrick and Quinn would be ahead of Meyler in the central midfield pecking order. As much as I like Meyler, why would be get a start ahead of Gibson when he's even less of a chance of starting at club level these days? I don't think Gibson will be omitted cos he's not starting for Everton in any case.

I had vague plans to get the train up for this, normally I get first dibs on tickets because my Da and I are season ticket holders but they haven't offered me any. What gives ? Any explanation ?

To the first question, probably yes. He's decent. Plus he's a nailed on starter at Derby, unlike the rest of them. In any case, it's not a question of what we think, it's what the manager thinks, and its clear he would (rightly) rate him above Meyler on current form etc.

On the tickets, have you not been following it? The FAI fucked it up royally by seemingly giving an overallocation to Abbey Travel etc. By the way, season ticket holders don't get first dibs, people with a record of traveling to away games do.

Sorry yeah I know that, but I get an email before every away game to alert me to a season ticket holder pre-sale for away tickets. Or at least i used to. Obviously big games like France sold out in seconds to traveling fans so I didn't get one that time.

10,000 applications for 3,200 tickets. There's sponsors/partners etc. to be taken care of but it seems like there's a core group of about 400 who go to every game and from what I can gather on twitter hardly any of them got tickets. I'd have thought that having a credits system based on previous purchases would be a fair way of selling tickets for the occasional high demand away game that crops up.

With Naismith and Fletcher back scoring I think they have slightly more of an edge up front but it's basically the same level of lower Premier League and Championship grafters with a sprinkling of talent on top that we have..

Daryl Murphy is on a hot streak at the moment, 2 goals last night and joint leading Championship scorer, not that he's going to displace Keane/Walters/Long but it's useful to have somebody in form to spring off the bench.

Shane Long is a better player than Fletcher in his sleep. Long is actually doing fine at Southampton now, albeit minus any actual premier league goals!! We've also a lot more Premier league players from a quick comparison.
Yeah, Murphy is doing well and his strike partner David McGoldrick is about to declare for Ireland too. Apparently he's a late bloomer but a genuine prospect for us.

Walters has been playing well recently too, he was pretty good at the weekend against West Ham, involved in both the goals, did really well to set up the second goal in particular
