5 Catholic Workers were arrested in Shannon this morning for damaging a US warplane and tearing up some of the Shannon runway. They broke into a hangar containing the plane damaged by Mary Kelly which was being repaired and damaged it extensively. They then built a shrine and spilt human blood on the runway and began tearing the tarmac up. RTE news are alledging that they overpowered the garda on duty but they claim he was worried about getting in trouble from his superiors and became agitated. They say that they did not harm him but tried to comfort and reassure him.
