I'm looking for reccommendations regarding places for band rehearsal. We tried Applerock but the sound/amps weren't very good. So folks, where's a descent and relatively cheap place to rehearse? Many thanks etc etc

The Underground on Amiens St is probably the cheapest
downsides are: some of the gear is past its best and its always booked out
Loop has good equipment but is a bit on the expensive side

Anyone know of anywhere else

space

Loop is expensive alright but on the up side you can practice from 10:30 to 1:30 in the morning. Maybe a few bands could get together and rent a permanent space between 5 or 6 bands we could have good gear and the rent would not be to expensive maybe beneath an office or somethin' any ideas people

all the studios are lousy pieces of shit. loop does seem better than the rest so far, but it is loads a'moneyz. question the first: can u physically spend five hours with u'r band mates plus noisy instruments? the five hour thing in loop was certainly an experience! luckily im louder an more annoying than the rest of them so i didnt have to worry too much.
question the second: what the fuck happened to garages and sheds and all, like in the old days? a free practice in a gaf seems a million miles away these days. its the way it should b!

..

karen karen karen, 5 hours is a standard jamming session.
we jam in a small spare room at marks house !!! whoooo . .. it's not even a garage .. that's one thing ronan was useful for .. having his very own garage.

We too are now looking fora practise space and looking into various garage, coalshed, catacomb, etc. options, but it's looking more and more likely that we'll have to rent somewhere...perhaps we could find something like a lock-up between a few of us and see what the story is? Who'd be interested? Nerdlinger, Scientific Bong, Bogpunker & The Weeler Deenas, who else? Bastard Yoof?

if bastard youth could afford it, definately. it'd still b a lot cheaper than rehersal studios. well up for it. on saterday i got landed with the worst equipment in the world at the underground, the amp even picked up other bands and played them thru like a radio station. muck. so much better if we had a place to call our own!

The question of renting a space is being discussed over on thumped too, and its come up time and time again,
Why cant we all, like just get along..sniff..hug..sob

Yeah, surely there's somewhere free, like a garage or something. We're still thinking about converting the caves by the house - would take a lot of work plus expenses though. Maybe we can start trying to sort something out on wednesday?
