I know nothing...

What should I buy (if anything)?

To be honest, I'd prefer one of their later albums and I'm not in the mood right now for the more experimental end of the scale...

I don't want to become a "fan"... I just want an album to listen to a lot...

Thanks

First three albums are money, baby. I've only heard smatterings of their/his output thereafter but nothing touched the first three.

"I prefer the earlier stuff"

God Bless The Red Krayola is probably the most accessible of the three but Coconut Hotel is my favourite.

Don't bother with this one. It's that bad, but not that great either.

I'd recommend "Introduction" from a couple of years back, it's a great record. I think it's 'their' most accessible work. There's an EP called "Red Gold" that was recorded at the same time too.

Definitely 'Introduction'. Staggeringly good record, features a superb band (McEntire, Kupersmith). I'm partial to a bit of Noel Kupersmith.

Yeah the first album with Hurricane Fighter Plane - just that song alone is worth hearing. You can't go too far wrong with 'God Bless...' either.

"God Bless the Red Krayola" is great, also very partial to "Kangaroo". Mayo Thompson's solo album is also a winner.
