Record Player Needles (1 Viewer)

I think the needle on my record players needs replacing. There's a lot of static and records get stuck at random points. Does this sound like it's just the needle that needs replacing or could it be more serious ?

How much do needles cost and where would I go to get one ?

Needles vary with the record player, if you've got a standard hi-fi add-on they're fairly cheap and can be gotten from anyone who sells the make of record player, if they don't have the cartriges in stock they should be able to get them for u. If it's a good quality turntable they can be quite expensive, again depending on make and what needle u want.

There's a hi-fi shop on capel street, Sounds Around I think its called. They're brilliant. I have an old but good turntable (from early 70's) and they were the only place that had the needles.

By the way I have a good turn table but is fucked. Do you think if I could get it fixed in one of these places?

If you have problem getting replacement needle I know that Record Collector magazine often carry ads from companies that sell needles for a multitude of hi-fi makes. Based in England but supposedly reliable.
