I need a mic to give a little assist to a good but not powerful voiice...am looking at the shure sm86 on thomann..any tips or such?

I've been told SM 58 is the one to go for. But then I've been using an phone mic through a guitar amp and a walkie talkie of late and I can't recomend each highly enough

You need to work on your breathing and vocal technique.It is possible to increase the power of your voice dramatically with exercise and practice.Also try shifting where the sound comes from up to the back of your mouth and not directly the larynx.This is called your head voice.I know this sounds teh ghey but I have proof that this shit works.Although had I known there was an option for getting a mic that would make up the shortcomings I dare say I woulda just got one of them.But I am glad I didnt now.
